A Little History
The first church was completed on February 22, 1930 and was called the Fairview Advent Christian Church. It was located five miles south of Bristow on State Highway 48. In May 1960 the church was completely destroyed by a tornado and its membership decided to move into Bristow. Construction of the new church was completed with additions added in 1981 and 1983. But on June 29, 1987 a fire completely destroyed this structure. Groundbreaking for a new facility was held on December 6, 1987 and in September 1988 the new church opened its doors.

Philosophy of Ministry
Ephesians 4:11-16 is the basis for Church structure. Supported by six following thoughts and scriptures.
We believe that all who accept Christ as Savior and Lord are called to service in the Church. There are no spectators. All of God's people are participants. Every person who makes up the body of Christ is important; men, women and children. All have been gifted by the Holy Spirit for the good of the body and service to Jesus Christ. It is the task of the church to empower the people of God for service to which Jesus has called them.
We take seriously our responsibility to love and serve Jesus Christ, to care for and be responsible for each other, and to care for God's world and its people with Christian love and compassion.

- The church must disciple others to keep the body of Christ in a growth cycle. Acts 2:41-42
- The church should seek to identify and develop personal spiritual gifts. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7
- The church should build up the body for maturity through its gifts. Ephesians 4:11-16

Organization and Affiliation
The organization of our church is congregational in nature which allows decisions to be made by the local body. We have a church board which serves in a representative capacity of the congregation and meets on a quarterly basis. An Executive Committee consisting of the Board Chairman, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Secretary and members of the Trustees meet on a monthly basis.
The Bristow Advent Christian Church is affiliated with our denomination at the Missouri Valley Conference level, the Central Advent Christian Mission Society and the Advent Christian General Conference headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.
